Hello,

The Newsletter should be out soon, but until then, please mark your
calendars and contact your gardeners for this workshop, a collaboration
between the Education and Advocacy and Outreach Teams with May Toy speaking
about the We Will program, along with Molly Doane of the UIC Anthropology
Dept. Molly will recap her study on urban wellness. You may recall Molly
and her colleagues were involved in a study of Global Wellness in Urban
Chicago, which featured Cordia and the Hermitage Street Community Garden.
You may find it at https://urbanwellness.fieldmuseum.org/

So, SAVE THE DATE for

Visioning the Future for Our Gardens

Shape the future of community gardens in Chicago by sharing your thoughts
and ideas with Chicago’s planning initiative WeWill. Learn too, how
community gardens support social and environmental wellbeing in numerous
ways in this workshop on Saturday, July 23 at 10am at UIC in the Behavioral
Science Building. This free workshop is presented jointly by the CCGA
Education and Advocacy and Outreach Teams and will feature presentations by
our own May Toy, as she is joined by UIC Anthropology Prof. Molly Doane.
The City of Chicago will have staff on hand to help participants complete
surveys for WeWill and offer swag bags to all.

UIC is centrally located and easily accessed on the CTA blue line and
buses, #60 or #7. We will also be looking for volunteers to guide
participants once inside the building, which is built like a beehive. If
you or a fellow gardener would like to volunteer, please reply to May or me
or Amy in the email.

Registration opens soon.

See you soon

Lorraine
