[Advocacy-outreach] [Communications] Partnership Inquiry

Julie,

I've included a few more people on this thread to clarify what we are
attempting.

First, I have already contacted Brian Ortega of Acero Schools and Cheryl
Foster of Antioch MB Church of Chicago located at 450 W. Englewood Ave.
(63rd and Stewart). These are the persons requesting help with starting a
community garden. My initial contact (as Education and Communications
team) was to welcome their inquiry and let them know someone from Advocacy
& Outreach would be in touch. (I hope this is going to be the case as A&O's
purpose is just this) I also sent them contact information for GreenCorps
and GreenCorps + Terma Firma, which is more aligned with community
gardens.

Admittedly the search for Julie's "Steps to Starting a Community Garden" is
not easy to find, so Julie or all of you on A&O, please just communicate
warmly, and copy and send the link at the end of this paragraph. In
general practice, a manual is made available on-line, but there is usually
a support contact for questions. Please, someone from A&O be that person.
Julie, you created the manual so you are the best support person for
contact. Amy is eager to fix the issues with access on our website, but
after the conference. She is on this email thread. Here is the link

http://chicagocommunitygardens.org/starting-a-community-garden/

You can also send it to them as a pdf which is attached to this email

We don't have funds set aside for photocopying without approval from Angela
as I understand it, nor do I think we should print this out when it can be
read on-line and downloaded and printed by those making the request, if
they choose. We have limited copy availability at NeighborSpace but should
be reluctant to take too much advantage of this and the photocopier is
pretty much always in use by GreenCorps.

Here again is the contact information for the two requests:

*Special Note:*

This church was one on the list of potential awardees for the State of
Illinois COVID funds to start a garden in 2020. Greg Miller of the same
church participated in a WebEx virtual meeting with us; however they were
not one of the final churches to receive funds., so they are reaching out
again.
