Reading programs have been hosted there as well. Many animals live there, including overwintering pollinators. The park district recently planted more trees and native plants. Serenity Park Gardens has also been a grantee of ours. We have many connections to Berwyn and to this garden. Please help us fight this terrible situation. We live in a time of climate change and green spaces are vitally important for the health of our communities. *Actions:* - Attend a rally - One is in the morning - One is from 6-6:30 - Attend the meeting - Begins at 8 pm - Agenda - Complete an impact statement even if you do not live in Berwyn - Email Berwyn's alderpeople (especially if you live in Berwyn or have another connection, like work) - Email Berwyn's mayor (especially if you live in Berwyn or have another connection, like work) - Follow Serenity Parks and Community Gardens Facebook f or information and browse the photos so that you can see the extent of the native planting and children experiencing nature in their own park. Are you interested in some seeds for your organization? Kasey will be working with the Chicago Botanic Garden's Seed Swap on Saturday, January 20th. Historically, there's been a massive amount of seeds left on the tables at the end of the event. So we'd like to invite a number of non-profit groups to pick up any seeds left at the end of the day. The seed swap will be open to members of the public from 2pm - 4pm, and be warned, it will be BUSY! You are welcome to participate in the public exchange but we will wait to pull things for your organizations until after the public swap is complete. You can learn more about the public event here: https://www.chicagobotanic.org/calendar/event/seedswap Details for the end of day pickup: - Location: Chicago Botanic Garden, Burnstein Hall and Krehbiel Gallery - Date: Saturday, January 20 - Time: 4pm - 4:30pm; please be at the hall no later than 4:30pm at the absolute latest - Both flower and vegetable seeds will be available in abundance. - We encourage you to bring boxes to help transport your seeds home, or even a cart if needed. There will be A LOT of seeds! If you would like to participate, please reply to this email with the name of whoever will be coming. Please RSVP by the end of the day on Monday, Jan. 8th. We'll make sure that person is noted with the gate house, so you will receive free admission and no parking fees upon arrival. Just tell the ticket booth attendant which organization you are affiliated with and that you are there to pick up seeds from the Seed Swap. If you know of another branch within your organization or any other local groups who you think we should contact about this opportunity, please let us know!
