Tuesday, 12/12 Serenity's Community Gardens, a Garden for Nature Grantee,
will be proposed to become a temporary parking lot for Berwyn's City Hall
Action Needed to Support Berwyn's Serenity Park and Community Gardens

*Context: *Berwyn's village government is set to propose at its 12/12
meeting THIS Tuesday that it eliminate its agreement with the Berwyn Park
District and turn the park into a* temporary parking lot for the city
hall. *

Serenity Park has been home to community gardens where children have grown
and learned about native plants, local ecology, and grown food. Reading
programs have been hosted there as well. Many animals live there, including
overwintering pollinators. The park district recently planted more trees
and native plants. Serenity Park Gardens has also been a grantee of ours.
We have many connections to Berwyn and to this garden. Please help us fight
this terrible situation. We live in a time of climate change and green
spaces are vitally important for the health of our communities.
