Please read through this request for a volunteer day to match a community
garden with their mentorship program. Their Vice President had given you
enough information to start a conversation, and it appears this would be a
mutually rewarding collaboration.
As you respond, please reply all.
Thank you for your interest.

Dear Chicago Community Gardeners Association,
I hope this email finds you well! My name is Alma Tatem, and I am reaching
out on behalf of Échale Ganas, a mentorship program dedicated to supporting
and empowering high school students as they navigate their academic and
professional journeys. Our program focuses on fostering leadership,
community engagement, and personal growth, and we are always looking for
meaningful ways to give back to the Chicago community.
We would love to organize a volunteer day with one of the incredible
community gardens in your network. Our goal is to bring our mentors and
mentees together for a day of service, learning, and connection with
nature. We are hoping to schedule this event on a weekend in late April to
the middle of May and would greatly appreciate any recommendations for a
local garden that could use extra hands during that time.
Please let us know if there are any opportunities available, and we’d be
happy to coordinate further to ensure we can be helpful in the best way
possible. Thank you for the work you do in maintaining these important
green spaces, and we look forward to the possibility of working together!
Best regards,
Alma Tatem
Vice President, Échale Ganas
