Good afternoon Neighbors and Environmental Stewards!

*I hope the month of May is going well for you*, I hope you can take the
time to go outside and enjoy the bird migration season! Especially at
Marquette Park where 50+ species of birds were observed recently and baby
goslings are starting to appear!

In anticipation of Saturday's Tree Planting Day I'm hosting a bird walk
starting at Marquette Park Field House, 6743 S. Kedzie, from 5.30 PM to 7
PM. I have enough binoculars to accommodate 15-20 people, but you can still
see birds up close without binoculars. If you'd like to join please RSVP

*Earth Day Recap: We organized* and picked up over 22 bags of trash and
over 300 lbs of garbage waste. Thank you so much to all of those who came
out! Many expressed that they'd like to do this regularly especially during
the summer months!

*Saturday May 10th: We have* our Mother's Day Tree Planting Event with
Openlands, this is our 3rd Tree Planting Grant with Openlands.

We are on track to plant over 100 native trees in West Lawn in our first
two years as an organization! This is remarkable considering we are a
grassroots neighborhood org! Volunteers still needed

*NOTE FOR NEIGHBORS: please join us* at West Lawn Park, you are free to
help plant your own tree, but try to have at least one family member
present while we plant to receive further care instructions!

*Espero que tengan un buen mes de mayo!* Espero que puedan tomarse el
tiempo para salir y disfrutar de la temporada de migración de aves.
¡Especialmente en Marquette Park, donde recientemente se observaron más de
50 especies de aves y están empezando a aparecer crías de ganso!

*En previsión del Día de Plantación de Árboles del sábado, estoy
organizando* una caminata de observación de aves que comenzará en Marquette
Park Field House, 6743 S. Kedzie, de 5:30 p. m. a 7:00 p. m.

Tengo suficientes binoculares para acomodar a 15-20 personas; aún pueden

Resumen del Día de la Tierra: Organizamos y recogimos más de 22 bolsas de
basura y más de 300 libras de desechos. ¡Muchas gracias a todos los que
vinieron! Muchos comentaron que les gustaría hacerlo con regularidad,
especialmente durante los meses de verano. Sábado 10 de mayo: Celebramos
nuestro evento de plantación de árboles con Openlands por el Día de las
Madres. Esta es nuestra tercera subvención para la plantación de árboles
con Openlands.
¡Vamos camino a plantar más de 100 árboles nativos en West Lawn en nuestros
primeros dos años como organización! ¡Esto es extraordinario considerando
que somos una organización vecinal de base! ¡Aún necesitamos voluntarios!
