The Chicago Excellence in Gardening Awards (CEGA) are back for 2022 and, <br>
after two pandemic years, once again IN PERSON! CEGA is Chicago's only <br>
citywide gardening program, honoring gardens throughout the City. Whether <br>
backyard, courtyard, parkway, rooftop, school, business, community garden <br>
or urban farm, CEGA wants to recognize hard work and creativity and the <br>
myriad ways that gardens improve our quality of life. <br>
<br>
Since 2017, CEGA has recognized more than 150 gardens representing 43 wards <br>
and 76 communities. We’re returning from the COVID-19 limitations with a <br>
goal of seeing gardens in all 50 wards! (We’ll even acknowledge the ward <br>
with the most winners!) Our judging crews are looking for beauty, <br>
horticultural skill, community connections and sustainability in <br>
determining which gardens will be acknowledged.<br>

Entries are being accepted through July 1 at <br>
<a href="https://chicagogardeningawards.org/" target="_blank">https://chicagogardeningawards.org/</a>, where you can find rules and an fill <br>
out an online entry form. There are no cash prizes, but it's FREE to enter, <br>
and honored gardens will receive certificates and beautiful all-weather <br>
signs that can be displayed outside year-round at an awards ceremony now <br>
scheduled for September. And, of course, bragging rights in their <br>
neighborhoods.<br>
