We are working on a service learning project for my summer civics class at Whitney Young High School. In this project we must partner with an association to theoretically solve a problem in the Chicagoland area. We are trying to start a community garden on the south side of Chicago to try and solve the problem of food deserts and lack of healthy food. Would you be willing to be our partner in this issue and (if we acquire a plot of land) help us plant the vegetables and native prairie plants with some of your expert members? The community garden could be located somewhere on the southside of Chicago, preferably somewhere where accessing vegetables and fruits is difficult. One possible location would be 5727 S Halsted St, Chicago IL 60621. It is an empty plot of land with grass and some trees lining the right side.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Thank you for your consideration.</div><div><br></div><div>sincerely, </div><div>Lily Engelhardt and Zoe Castillo</div></div>
