Green Infrastructure Program
Partnership Opportunity (LAST WEEK)
We are excited to announce that the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) is accepting applications from municipal, township, county agencies, park districts, school districts, and other local government organizations within MWRD's corporate boundaries to fund projects that utilize green infrastructure until August 9th.
This form of infrastructure captures water and allows it to infiltrate into the ground before it enters the traditional conveyance system. This helps to reduce the amount of water flowing through pipes that can be overwhelmed by intense rain events.
Public agencies within the MWRD’s corporate boundaries are encouraged to submit an application online by visiting ** www.mwrd.org (https://gmail.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b968358480b7ff4ced14b47c4&id=3f96b12cd7&e=c4ca39f2f7)
. Eligibility requirements and instructions are included in the application form which can be found at the following link ** MWRD_Green Infrastructure (https://gmail.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b968358480b7ff4ced14b47c4&id=b29849a04c&e=c4ca39f2f7)

Cook County Urges Residents to Go Solar
"Cook County is partnering with the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) and the Citizens Utility Board to make solar energy more accessible and affordable for County residents.
The partnership is coordinating a residential solar group buy program called Solarize Chicagoland, making it available to residents in Cook, DuPage, Kane and Will Counties."
The program takes advantage of volume purchasing, which can significantly reduce the up-front costs of installing solar on homes. The more people that participate, the lower the cost is for the solar installer and the lower the prices are for participants.
To learn more about Solarize Chicagoland, please attend a Solar Power Hour. These free, no obligation information sessions are being held throughout the summer. The schedule is listed on
