Herb workshop questions from attendees:

Soil gnats! What is the best organic way to get rid of them?

Can I grow curry leaves oregano and cilantro inside?

Is a full-spectrum light set-up a worthwhile investment?

I face west on the 17th floor in the South Loop. Basil, dill, thyme grows. What else might I try?

Best sources for herb seeds and appropriate potting soil.

I bought a couple grow lights and have a set up in the corner of my apartment, but they don't seem to be doing well. Specific suggestions of products/specifications on those items (look for a grow light that says X on the box) would be a huge help!

A.Is there a downside to growing in an empty aquarium container? B. What Soil to use when bringing herbs from outside inside ?

Mostly concerned with a way to make a shelf for the window sill and best shelving units for living room window.

What is the best growing medium for herbs?
