Good afternoon,

My name is Caroline Catherman and I am a multimedia journalist for Medill
News Service at Northwestern University.

I'm writing a story about issues with Chicago's hydrant permit policy,
specifically how the process may limit local gardeners' access to water. I
noticed that your organization is a part of a Change.org campaign to update
the policy.

I was wondering if I could schedule an interview with a leader of your
organization to talk about the widespread impact that this policy may have
had, and how COVID-19 may have caused further struggles? I was wondering
also if your organization could connect me to any local gardeners that you
know of that have struggled and would be willing to be interviewed?

I am free anytime Tuesday, Thursday after 1:00, or Friday anytime for a
remote or in-person interview. I can offer more times if needed, and next
week would also work for me.

As a freelance journalist and graduate student, my work may be published in
Medill Reports or other news outlets.
