In 2016, Eliza Fournier had all of us read this Peace Pledge during her keynote a the conference. On our website, it’s attributed to Mahatma Gandhi but I can only find attribution to Aline D. Wolf, a Montessori teacher and author. (We should fix that!)

Anyhow, I am wondering about doing something similar for this year, perhaps as part of the Welcome. Perhaps we could have students read a pledge or poem?

I pledge allegiances to the Earth
And to all things that it nourishes
All growing things
All species of animals
And all races of people

I promise to protect all life in our planet
To live in harmony with nature
And to share our resources justly
So that all people can live in dignity
In good health and in Peace
