Andrea,

We have come up with two community gardens in the 60630 zip code that
you may be interested in joining or contacting to see if there is a
volunteer opportunity. Both community gardens are supported by
Neighbor-Space, so we suggest you check out their website, or email them at
info at neighbor-space.org

The gardens are SRB Community Spirit Garden, 4935 N Central Ave, Chicago,
IL, 60630 and Dunning Community Garden at 4235 N Neenah Ave, Chicago, IL
60634 You might even try a walk-by the gardens to see if they are what you
have in mind, or if there is a sign to indicate how else you might contact
them.

As for other volunteer opportunities, those are in the making. There are a
number of school gardens that have not had sufficient volunteer help at the
schools since they've been operating remotely. We're looking at an "adopt
a school garden" volunteer group for spring 2021. So keep an eye out and
watch CCGA FB and our website for updates.

Thanks for your interest,
Lorraine Kells, Co-chair, CCGA Education Committee
