You are receiving this message because you subscribe to our e-newsletter. The Benefits of Nature Dear Garfield Park Conservatory Family, There is an abundance of emotions overwhelming us as our community is hurting in many ways. The attack on the capitol and our democracy by violent mobs, the grotesque display of systemic racism, and the devastating milestone of the highest record of deaths in one day due to COVID. That’s what happened just last week. But we also recognize the racial injustice and disparities experienced by our resilient neighbors every day, which drives us to be of service as a resource and place of respite. As the fight against systemic racism continues, we are enrolled in self-improvement programs like OF/BY/FOR ALL so the Alliance can be even more relevant for our neighbors in the future. I wish beyond everything that the doors of the Conservatory could be open to offer you the restorative power of nature in the warm oasis of the greenhouses. Until that day comes, we are providing free programs to promote healing and the benefits provided by nature. Please see below for a list of free virtual programs, classes and events. We invite you to breathe and stretch with yoga, dig deep into the topic of soil and gardening, learn about the power of bees and trees – and more. Until we can welcome you back to the Conservatory, we hope to stay connected and that you are finding ways to enjoy nature and help your community wherever you are.
