[Communications] Write up for Newsletter

Hello all,

Here is a rough draft of material for the newsletter which is to go out
soon.  Today I am scheduling the Ed Committee meeting for Tues. Feb 2 at 6
pm.

A special coordinating committee meeting needs to be scheduled to approve
or reject the recommendations of the Ed Committee before Fri Feb 5.
Notices of acceptance to presenters goes out Friday Feb 5.

JW, Amy will either of you do that please?
