[Communications] Native Garden Registry Status

Hi Lorraine,
Thanks for the draft. I would recommend making the following changes to
the last paragraph.
Alderman Hopkin's office had indicated that the majority of our
recommendations were accepted but would be incorporated as part of the
rules to be promulgated by DPD. A revised draft of the ordinance was
written which we felt was too ambiguous with the rules still unknown and to
be created after the ordinance had passed. At a defining meeting in May,
CCGA was asked to name our make-or-break items for inclusion in the revised
ordinance. Our response was for the registry to be free and for the
establishment of an advisory panel including CCGA, where we would have
ongoing input moving forward. Our understanding from IEC was that the
City of Chicago had agreed to these two items for inclusion into the
ordinance. As of June 15, we have not received a new update on the status
of the ordinance from the IEC or the City of Chicago. ...so how does this
end?
