> Both urban land steward Sheryll Durant and food policy expert Qiana Mickie have been working with food and farming communities in New York City and State for over a decade. They are currently working with HBCUs of University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) and Florida A&M University (FAMU) on a national research and technical assistance project to support equitable access to federal funding among Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC) and Hawaiian Pacific Islanders (HP) farmers.

> Fawn Pochel: An advocate for social and environmental justice, Fawn is the co-founder of the First Nations Garden located in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood. Fawn has over a decade of community organizing and advocacy experience focusing on raising awareness of Native Peoples living in Chicago with the goal of contributing to the personal sovereignty, healing, and educational pursuits of Native youth. Fawn has worked closely with communities across the city to incorporate land-based pedagogies and Indigenous worldview into curricula and policy while developing and implementing innovative community programming through an Indigenous lens focused on the preservation of native plants, heritage foods and dismantling systems of white supremacy.

> Elena Terry: Elena is the Executive Chef/Founder of Wild Bearies, a community outreach non-profit that works towards building a stronger community through the power of ancestral foods and traditional indigenous foodways. A member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, she works in her homelands as an advocate for responsible and sustainable agriculture. Elena uses traditional foods as a vessel for healing and connection.

> Alex Franz: Alex Frantz identifies as food systems nerd and creative who’s deeply motivated and anchored by the power of relationship-building and community. Passionate about exploring solutions to the challenges presented by an inequitable and unsustainable food system, Alex has spent a decade in a variety of roles that cultivate demand, support growers, and increase the transparency needed to transform it. As the current Director of Local & Sustainability at Midwest Foods, Alex utilizes storytelling and reporting to co-create innovative partnerships with farmers and foodservice clients focused on shared goals for values-based sourcing at institutions like colleges, hospitals, museums, stadiums, and senior living facilities. In community with those who inspire her, Alex is proud to serve as a board member for Central Illinois FarmFED Cooperative and as a member of the Chicago Food Equity Council’s Institutional Procurement Workgroup, the International Fresh Produce Association Sustainability Council, and Chicago Sustainability Task Force’s inaugural leadership team.  Celebrating 10 years in Chicago, Alex lives in Humboldt Park with her partner, Ben, and can be found making coffee, visiting with friends, and continuing to mull over strategies for deep systemic and personal change in her spare time.

> I wanted to thank each of you for taking the time to support AUA's partnership with Pitchfork was a huge success overall! We raised nearly $1,000 with an estimated 60 individuals donating over the course of the three days. We also acquired contact information from nearly 100 individuals who attended the festival. Having meaningful interactions with folks from the Chicago community and beyond are key to AUA expanding its impact and influence!
