MWRD to host open houses at the O'Brien and Stickney Water Reclamation Plants   Follow the flush: Open Houses to be held at MWRD’s O’Brien, Stickney Water Reclamation Plants in May To celebrate Chicago Water Week, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) will welcome the public for a behind-the-scenes look at how we transform water.   The open houses will take place on these dates and times:   May 4 - O’Brien Water Reclamation Plant, 3500 Howard St., Skokie, 10am-2pm May 11 - Stickney Water Reclamation Plant, 6001 W. Pershing, Cicero,10am-2pm Staff from various MWRD departments will also be on hand to answer questions. We will distribute free oak tree saplings and milkweed seeds that can assist with stormwater management.   No reservations are required, all ages are welcome, and there is plenty of free parking. Visitors are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and suitable attire for an industrial environment. See the flier for more information.
