Subject: Welcome to CCGA's Website

Sarah,

I contacted Amy shortly after our coordinating committee ended about your offer to help with CCGA communications which was eagerly accepted during our meeting. Now all active members of the communications team welcome you for however long you are able to work with us. We’re happy to have you join us!
You asked during the meeting what is a community garden? So, again, we generally use the following guideline: Community gardens are typically owned or managed by public entities, civic organizations or community-based organizations and maintained by volunteers. This may also include gardens created and maintained by volunteers at schools, churches, fire stations. It includes the list of neighborhood garden networks you can find in the right-hand frame on our website. Additionally, plants grown on site are intended only for personal use, for charity, or for community beautification purposes.

We typically post community gatherings and events based in Chicagoland, but from time to time, we share info about wider events. CCGA’s main focus is community gardening, but if we think an event would appeal to gardeners, we share it!
That said, here's hoping you can meet soon and start posting events and updating the monthly calendar.

Regards,
The Communications Team
