In this post-pandemic world, we've been working to refigure the structure
of our classes to make them as accessible as possible while still offering
hands-on, community-based opportunities to learn. We'll be debuting this
new format - featuring zoom-based lectures, films, and in-person field
sessions in summer and fall. We've been excited to collaborate with
filmmaker Drew Durepos on films that mix experimental aesthetics and
pedagogical rigor - below is a still from one of the films.

We were excited to release the first reader from our *Land.Place.Belonging.*
series at a public event at Inga Books in Pilsen, Chicago in early
January. After provocations by journalist Anjulie Rao and artist Lydia
Cheshewalla, we kicked off the public discussion with a question: ‘How do
you relate to the place where you are now?’

*Order your copy of Land.Place.Belonging. issue # 1 here (only 100 copies
printed).

We'll
have our next Land.Place.Belonging public conversation and reader printed
in early Spring, stay tuned!*

*Above*: Good conversations with good people at the launch event.

We were honored to be a part of the Savanna Institute

2023 Perennial Farm Gathering. We spoke as part of a panel on implementing
holistic design through lenses of personal experience and innovative design
approaches steeped in traditionally stewarded guiding principles with
Emilie Tweardy from Appalachian Sustainable Development, and Tonia Andreina
and Jenn Ripp from the Savanna Institute.

In December we also partnered with the Southeast Environmental Task Force

to offer another Soil Keepers introductory class. The SE Environmental Task
Force people are some of my long standing personal heroes in the
environmental justice movement in Chicago. Grateful for your work and
inspired by your fierce spirit! Thank you Felicia for your organizing!
