Hi,

My name is Jeffrey Hudson, and I am currently a second-year master's student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the Recreation, Sport, and Tourism department. I am currently working on a research project within Chicago that revolves around how residents can positively impact and transform their local environments through greening projects. I believe the work that the CCGA does within communities would add invaluable insights for the future of my research.

Being a Chicago native myself, I want to continue hearing the voices of community members and understand the lived experiences of participants in organizations such as these! I have previously done research in communities such as South Shore and Pullman with the help of the Chicago Department of Planning and Development, but I feel like connecting with local organizations would better fit a more grounded approach.

If there was any way to set up a short online meeting or follow-up information session with a leader or member within this organization that would be beyond helpful for the University’s study. If you feel as if this organization doesn’t align with my current research focus, would you be able to point me in the right direction of any group or organization who might take an interest in this research?

Thank you for your insights and I look forward to any possibility to working with you and learning more about the work the CCGA has done in Chicago communities.

Thank you for your help and enjoy your weekend,
Jeffrey H.
