I wanted to let you know that the Illinois General Assembly House
Agriculture Committee is convening a Subject Matter Hearing on Tuesday to
investigate the impacts of the USDA funding freeze, tariffs, and the
delayed farm bill on our state's agriculture and food system.

This is an important opportunity for farmers and food system leaders to
testify to their experience, especially with the IL EATs program.

My colleagues and I will help coordinate farmers and the local food
community to share our stories and experiences in an impactful way on
Tuesday.

This hearing is an important step to draw attention to the federal issues
impacting our farm businesses, families and communities. It is one action
to help urge USDA to unfreeze important federal programs that are important
to local food producers, like IL EATs and RFSI.

*Farmers and food system leaders are also encouraged to attend in person
with us at the Capitol to show support, even if you do not plan to testify.*
