Janice,

We at CCGA acknowledge that there are not enough community gardens nor
growing spaces and those that exist have long waiting lists.  We'll get to
that in another paragraph.

Since you state you live close to Peterson Park, I'm wondering if you are
aware that in that same park, just south of you there is the North Park
Garden Club.  I've included a member of that garden club in this reply to
you. Please reach out to her if you do not hear from Betsy.

As I said earlier in this email, we are deeply aware that there are many
more people in Chicago who would like to grow their own food, volunteer in
a garden, or grow in their yards to support butterflies and pollinators.
CCGA has been collaborating with Advocates for Urban Agriculture (AUA) on
an *Urban Growing Ordinance* to reduce red tape in the City of Chicago to
be more supportive of individuals, organizations growing food, herbs,
flowers, and other pollinator habitats within the city; identify challenges
within departments of the City of Chicago and sister agencies to better
serve growers; and encourage improved resources from public and private
entities to help you grow.
