Terra Firma will primarily employ residents with barriers to employment for approximately 30 hours per week from June-December 2021. <br class=""><br class="">Using revenue from adult-use cannabis sales, the State of Illinois created the R3 Program -Restore - Reinvest - Renew – which is funding the launch of Terra Firma to support communities hardest hit by the failed war on drugs. Greencorps Chicago (GCC) is background friendly and will hire 40 crew members, 3 crew supervisors, a social service coordinator, and an administrative assistant to stand up its Community Assistance Program, which was shuttered in 2011. The Terra Firma program will train individuals in a variety of environmental skills and certifications, provide hands-on experience installing and caring for landscapes across the mid-South Side, and support personal growth with life skills training and connection to other important services.
