[Education] Urban Pollinators Citizen Science Project

Hello,

My name is Lauren Lynch, and I am a graduate student at the University of Illinois studying the effects of urbanization on pollinator communities. I am currently recruiting citizen scientists who are willing to collect data regarding the pollinators visiting their home and community gardens over the course of the summer. Volunteers would attend a two-hour online training where we will go over some pollinator ID and learn the data collection procedure, and then spend a half hour monitoring their garden for pollinators once every two weeks over the course of the summer. I have attached a flier with a little bit more information about the project here.

I was wondering if you think that this might be something that any of your members would be interested in participating in? And if so, would you be willing to share this information with your members? I would ask volunteers to send me an email to sign up for one of the trainings. Right now, I have trainings scheduled for this Saturday 6/6 from 10:00-12:00 am and next Wednesday 6/10 from 1:00-3:00 pm.
