[Education] Academy Group Summer Partnership

Dear Chicago Community Gardeners Association,

I hope this finds you well. My name is Lauren Adejumo and I work as the Lead Learning Designer with The Academy Group. The Academy Group is a local non-profit working with young people from Chicago’s most resilient communities, grades 4 through post-college employment. Our program centers on helping students become leaders of tomorrows economy and communities, and provides year-round business, social justice, advising, and academic programming.

I’m reaching out in hopes that we might connect to discuss how we might partner with you all around our 5th grade summer social justice course: Food Access and Equity. We are aware of your work within the community and would love to find ways to integrate some of your expertise.

At present, we anticipate having approximately fifty 5th grade students in the in-person summer program, which will run at Canter Middle School from July 5th through July 29th.

If you’d be interested in connecting with our students, please let me know a few times that you’re available to speak. Thank you in advance for helping our young social justice change agents to have this powerful experience!
