‘Healing Soils in Place’ workshop in Sugar Hill district, Jacksonville, FL

We traveled to Jacksonville, Florida and worked with incredible people during that strong and surprising ice, snow, and cold that hit the South! And conducted a series of talks, project builds, and work days with various partners and sites - Eartha’s Farm and Market, YellowHouse, and Davis Street Soil Project. Noelle from Davis Street Soil Project and I made an appearance on public radio station WJCT!

Nance installing the exhibit at the Art Institute!

I screened and blended 3,000 lbs of soil, sand, and clay to build Piso de Tierra for the Colombian artist, Juliana Gongora Rojas, for her exhibition ‘En El Principio’ (‘In The Beginning’) in the Architecture wing of The Art Institute of Chicago. Enjoy the exhibition at the museum through the end of July!
