The 2nd Annual CCCG Gathering
On Saturday, March 23rd, over 180 Chicago community gardeners gathered at Navy Pier to discuss the state of community gardening in Chicago. We had workshops on season extension, composting, white rock gleaning, edible perennials, and water conservation. Artist, writer, and organizer Daniel Tucker spoke to us about how community gardeners “transform the culture around food, land and community.” We made the most of the seed swap and the garden consignment shop. Most importantly, we came from all corners of the City to connect and to discuss how our gardens can continue to grow together this season.
