Grown in Chicago: Summer Soireé & Showcase – Thursday August 10th
Advocates for Urban Agriculture (AUA) invites you to the 3rd annual Grown in Chicago: Summer Soirée & Showcase!
This unique evening features an urban farm-to-table dinner incorporating produce grown right here in Chicago, including from the fields of Gardeneers, The Urban Canopy, Cedillo’s Fresh Produce, Chicago Patchwork Farms, McDowell Farm School, Windy City Harvest, The Cooperation Operation, OTIS Fresh Farm, South Side Occupational Academy, KAMII Food Justice & Sustainability, Chicago FarmWorks and more!
Each of these urban farms and gardens will be featured in the night’s urban agriculture showcase. As you enjoy an open bar of locally brewed delights from Koval Distillery, Lagunitas Brewing Co, Revolution Brewing (and more), you’ll have the chance to network with each of these dynamic projects. There will also be opportunities for urban agriculture entrepreneurs to connect with funding sources, including Accion Chicago and the USDA’s Natural Resource Conservation Service.
AUA’s biggest event of the year also includes an exciting silent auction, and will be held at the urban farm of the 4-Star Certified Green Restaurant & Caterer, Big Delicious Planet, 412 N. Wolcott Ave. on Thursday August 10th, 6pm-9pm. Funds raised will support AUA’s ongoing advocacy, outreach, and educational efforts. Invite your urban garden and farm networks with the Facebook event page HERE, and get your tickets here: http://growninchicago.brownpapertickets.com (early-bird tickets run through July 31st!). Celebrate and help grow Chicago’s urban agriculture movement!
