DESCRIPTION:Please join the Student Conservation Association\, Midwest Grows Green and the Riverdale Park District in kicking off the fall planting season by planting 25 native trees an a pollinator friendly eco-lawn!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nWHEN: Saturday\, September 14\, 9:00 am to Noon. Registration beginning at 8:30 am\, kick-off at 9:00 am. \nWHERE: Please park along S. Atlantic Ave. between Wentworth Ave and 144th St. Look for the Student Conservation Association work truck and trailer as well as the blue pop up tent! Stop by the tent to register! \nWHAT: Volunteers will plant\, mulch\, and water native trees as well as install an eco-lawn. \nBRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. \nPROVIDED: All project supplies (tools\, gloves\, etc.) are provided. The 2020 theme “20/20 FOCUS ON FLOWERS” is in collaboration with The Get Growing Foundation\, a non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating the next generation of gardeners.\n \nTogether small businesses\, skilled-labor unions\, industry professionals\, authors\, sponsors and talented friends of the Show (far too many to mention) have invested in this year’s theme\, to bring the beauty of flowers (more than 800+ varieties – 80 varieties of tulips alone!)\, art and design together for an amazingly creative and unforgettable show. New gardens include American Quilter’s Society\, I&M Canal\, Perfect Parkways\, Plant Truck Chicago\, Focus on Spring\, Zen Garden and Trail Marker Tree garden.  Plus 75 education programs!

SUMMARY:Seeds of Service: Know Your Roots!
DESCRIPTION:AmeriCorps Project YES! is proud to present Seeds of Service: Know Your Roots! This is a community gardening volunteer event that will take place May 8th. Volunteers will take a shift either from 10am-12pm or 12:30pm-3pm at one of four community gardens: El Yunque\, Campbell\, Mozart\, or Monarch. COVID precautions will be in place and a light lunch will be provided. All volunteers need to bring is a willingness to get your hands dirty! \nOur flyer is above and more information can be found on our Facebook page or Instagram. If you are interested\, register using this Google form! If you are unable to attend but would like to support our efforts financially\, we also have a GoFundMe page. \nProject YES! hopes to raise awareness about community gardening\, increase community pride and mobilize neighbors and students in volunteerism.
