Matching gift opportunity through 8/7! You are receiving this message because you subscribe to our e-newsletter. Dear Director, Equitable access to nature is calling, will you answer? We are on the brink of building a new state-of-the-art, natural discovery and play space – it's the new EMG Children’s Garden at the Garfield Park Conservatory! Studies show that spending time in nature helps children, and all of us, become more inspired, healthier and happier. A need exists to connect people to nature who have been historically underrepresented and excluded in the outdoor movement. Bringing this investment to Garfield Park helps enhance the health of our community and makes Chicago a more equitable and sustainable city. Thank you to those who have already supported this project. If you haven't made a gift yet, if you want to make an additional gift or create your own peer to peer fundraiser to share with your family and friends now is the time. All gifts received by August 7, 2023 will be matched $1 for $1, thanks to an anonymous Chicago donor! This is an incredible opportunity to double your impact!! We are 75% to our goal and need to raise $61,000 by August 7, 2023. Will you give today and help us meet the match? GIVE NOW Your gift will help build: More equitable access to nature year-round A welcoming, engaging environment that inspires curiosity Emotional, social and spiritual well-being The next generation of nature champions! The new Children’s Garden is a critical step in prioritizing equitable access to nature and investing in Garfield Park. Your gift will advance our goal to be the most inclusive campus for nature education in the nation. We anticipate breaking ground in October of 2023 and reopening the new EMG Children's Garden in September 2024. Design elements will include: A wheel-chair accessible spiral ramp Space for visitors with sensory processing needs and low-sensory hours A new slide, dig pit and toddler area An epic climber, built specifically for GPC New family restroom with solar panels that is also a way to learn about renewable energy An interactive Texture Trail, Art & Nature Gallery, Curiosity Canopy and more Click here to see the new design in a walk through video We need more partners in change to help us cross the finish line.
