[Communications] Upcoming Maxwell Garden /Neighborhood Events of Interest for Park District Seniors and Community Members in General

Hi Clare!

So MUCH has been happening  very quickly the last few weeks and I apologize
for not reaching out sooner.  Had a lovely lunch on the patio at Sinha last
Thursday with friends.  It was a perfect day to be there ! Jorgina was in
and out -- Millenium Park had her feeding them breakfast as part of a
special event and the Symphony needed her to feed them dinner at 4 pm so
we only saw her for a few minutes !

There's several INCREDIBLE upcoming events beginning with one this Sunday
just south of the Garden and Fosco Park.  I so hope that you can personally
attend, and

Beginning in  2018, Connecting 4 Communities, a neighborhood non-profit,
initiated conversations with the Alderman and the railroad to clean up the
Racine viaduct between 15th and 16th Streets, to properly maintenance the
structure (water leaking and seepage, filth,etc).  The efforts began and
then along came Covid and a 2 year delay.  The structural work was done
last year, funding appropriated and Artists are NOW creating murals with
the culmination this coming Sunday !

A flyer detailing that, as well as National Night Out August 1, two
upcoming  "tasty" Maxwell Workshops that can be enjoyed by all who attend
on August 3 and 8, and the SOS Fall Resource Fair and Back to School Bash
on Saturday August 19th.

I sincerely hope that you can attend all of them and PLEASE bring / invite
seniors to attend ALL of these events !  ESPECIALLY the SOS Fall Resource
Fair and Back to School Bash.  There will be healthcare professionals
there, freebies galore (including bags of veggies).  Maxwell will have a
table in front of the garden, and inside we will have LOCAL Honey for Sale,
our (sealed) exhibition hive.

Am thinking that once you see the woman who is doing the fruit - art -
platter event that you might want to retain her to do this at some of the
Park Districts.  A presentation like that can be done anytime during the
year, and could easily be adapted to vegetables.

Again,apologies for the lack of contact last week. Looking forward to
meeting up with you at one of these events soon !
