Join in the fun as we celebrate the life of our guest-of-honor, a Century Plant affectionately known as Maya. After 50 years of preparation, Maya has shot up 37 feet through the Conservatory roof in a marvelous, once-in-a-lifetime bloom. Satisfy your curiosity about this unique desert plant and engage your senses with agave-fueled cocktails and spirits from some of the world’s best distilleries paired with delicious food bites from some of Chicago’s best multi-cultural restaurants. This event wouldn’t be possible without our partnership with S.A.C.R.E.D. TICKETS Tickets on sale now! RSVP National Honey Bee Day August 17 from 11am-2pm Join us as we celebrate the beloved honey bee at this annual event! Our volunteer beekeepers will host demonstrations to learn the role bees play with pollination and the food we eat, we’ll taste honey from around Chicago, and extract honey from our hives! Kids and families can also enjoy bee themed activities during our Fiddleheads program. Music Under Glass: Lester Rey Wednesday, August 28 from 6pm-7pm Free: RSVP encouraged but not required RSVP Join us for our new installment of Music Under Glass! This series is free and open to the public, all ages welcome. This month head to the Conservatory for some neo Latin Soul. Lester Rey is a versatile soul crooner for a contemporary audience, a fearless wordsmith, and musical innovator. His use of percussion, poetic lyricism, and hypnotizing vocal range has made him a standout solo artist since the release of his debut EP "Blue Lion.” A forward-thinking collaborative project bringing together Djs and Producers worldwide to remix his already contemporary approach on Boogaloo and Latin Soul. Learn more. Harvest Day Saturday, September 21 from 12pm-4pm Celebrate the fall harvest in the city! Come and meet urban goats, chickens, and bees. The Cabbage Patch September 21 - January 5 Come celebrate the grand opening during Harvest Day! Part of the Chicago Architectural Biennial. Any school group that books a field trip in September, October, November, or December can reserve the lunchroom for half price. Bus scholarships: Any Title 1 eligible school in Chicago can apply for a scholarship for up to 2 free buses for a Garfield Park Conservatory field trip!
