I received a request from a high school student who is in the program,
Center for Talent Development (CTD) at Northwestern University; this
progam serves academically talented students. This is a program within
the School of Education and Social Policy to ensure gifted students receive
the education, encouragement, and support they need to grow into confident
and accomplished lifelong learners. Sharanya is in the LaunchX program and
has asked for our help in completing her project.

As a leader or steward in an active garden (please do not reply if you are
not active in a garden as this will skew her research) please take 20
minutes of your time to answer the questions below. You may also find the
document in google docs. Sharanya needs this by the end of the weekend. So
busy gardeners, Can you help? Even if you don't answer all the questions
please give her a few.and *reply only* to pogakusharanya at gmail.com

Please give a brief summary of the average gardening routine at your
community garden.

How do gardeners choose a plant to grow? Is garden space an issue?

Are there common frustrations that stand out in regards to maintaining
transplanted or seed sown varieties? If so, please list and describe them
briefly.

How do gardeners determine when to water their plants?

How often do gardeners come to the garden to take care of their plants? Is
commitment measurable?

Is the garden completely maintained by the people who have spaces or are
there other volunteers or professionals who take care of it as well?

What is the demographic of the neighborhood? Of the gardeners?

Is there a concern about any environmental issues?
