[Communications] Newsletter and website stuff

Amy,

Do we want to have everything in this first newsletter.  There should be
another one in March to contain a lot of this stuff about swag and food
that doesn't need to go out with registration. Seeds yes, but let's leave a
teaser for March to punch up registration numbers.  It's good to have the
text and information now, but I don't think it all needs to go out now.
Just sayin'

The featured speaker for our conference is Robert Nevel, and I included you
in the email to him requesting more information on his talk, . Scheduling
this will be tricky because the bridge with vendors  is in a separate area
from where he'll be speaking, most likely while people are sitting down to
eat, better to capture them.  However there's no control of flow of people
in and out of vendor area because lunch is the only time they have to visit
vendors and Robert will be speaking.  A consideration more problematic now
than when we were looking at the bridge and very excited about it as
exhibitor space.  Well talk about this at the MOTM meeting Feb 11 at 11 am
at the Hatchery.

So let's just put a placeholder for his Keynote Address and hopefully we'll
hear from him.  You also have his photo.

I've attached photos of seeds for distribution at the conference.  Note:
seeds are sorted for easy selection, thanks to those folks at Resources.

The kid's table is not new; there have been generous donations of books for
kids, both in Spanish & English and once again we'll have grow kits for
kids.

Ellen has promised photos for the Resources distribution Feb 22. It will be
at 9:30 am at the Hatchery, 135 N Kedzie.  Folks must enter at the main
entrance on Kedzie and sign-in at the front desk.

There will aslo be a Resources Tool Distribution, March 7 at CCGT 445 N
Sacramento in the second floor classroom following a talk "Getting Ready
for Growing Vegetables" with Dan Gibbs. Dan works with the Austin Green
Team, where he is president and garden leader. The Austin Green Team
converts derelict properties into gardens. Dan is a noted garden educator
who works to make local food gardening accessible and easy for families
through education, inspiration and ongoing support. Follow CCGA on Facebook
