Dear Local Soil Health Advocate,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to reach out and invite you to
help promote our upcoming eventbrite courses as part of The Soil Keepers:
Soil Science and Training Program
<https://socialecologies.net/cms/social-ecologies/the-soil-keepers/>. These
courses are designed to train soil advocates to amend soil in their yard,
neighborhood, or community-led remediation project, and are led by
instructor Nance Klehm, founder of Chicago-based Social Ecologies
<https://socialecologies.net/social-ecologies/>.
The first session, offered in February, is The Soil Keepers: Introduction
to Soil Science <https://www.eventbrite.com/e/507612301057>. It will meet
online for 2 hours over two weeks on Tuesday evenings. The second session,
offered in March, is called Unit I: The Body of Soil
<https://www.eventbrite.com/e/519943363597> and covers the physical aspects
of soil. This course meets in-person, in Chicago, over 4 weeks on Saturday
mornings.
As you know, soil is a crucial component of our ecosystem and is essential
to maintaining community health, the health of our food, and as a solution
to climate change and biodiversity. Chicago, with its over 8 million people
and connection to the Great Lakes, is particularly important in the
conversation of food sovereignty.
I would greatly appreciate your help in promoting these courses through
your Facebook, Instagram, and newsletter channels. If you are interested in
attending the courses yourself, you can take advantage of the early bird
rate and get your tickets early. Space is limited, so don't wait!
Please let me know if you have any questions or if there's anything else I
can do to support your participation. Below you will find copy and paste
text to post on Facebook, instagram, as well as a short paragraph to
include in your newsletter. Additionally, we have a few images you may use
along with the text. We really appreciate it.
