Hello CCGA folks and happy spring.
Would you mind extending this invitation below to fellow growers in our region? Please see additional contextual materials attached for reference. Thank you.

On April 18 and 22 I will be leading an environmental education immersion and guess what? You’re invited!
If you’ve been wondering how you can help local wildlife, have an underutilized space and want to see something else grow there, or are interested in building your capacity to make environmentally savvy suggestions for people in your life, this event is for you.
April 18 will start with a field day experience across 3 – 4 local, beautiful ecosystems beginning at 11 AM. Around 6 PM we’ll make our way to Brickstone Brewery and Restaurant in Bourbonnais for the local Green Drinks chapter meeting. There I’ll present a user manual, explaining how everyday people like you can me can make a meaningful impact on endangered species in our area using regionally available plant material and best land management practices.
April 22 “Earth Day” will involve the same activities in opposite order; we’ll begin at the Kankakee Library for the user manual presentation and Q&A at 11 AM then proceed to the field day, experiencing local wildlife spaces.
All those who are interested in supporting the well-being, health and vitality of our natural habitats, wildlife and people are welcome to join. Anyone attending with plant ID, naturalist, permaculturist, or related knowledge is welcome to contribute during interpretive field day activities. : ) This event will also appeal to those interested in sustainable food production.
This is the presentation of my Directed Research conducted through the UIUC Master of Landscape Architecture program I’m anticipating graduating from in May.
Your RSVP is appreciated. Please reply with which day you’ll attend (April 18 or 22) to this email. This is a rain or shine event! Follow up email to come for those registered including wardrobe and travel suggestions.
I hope to see you there!
Best,
Tonia Andreina
