Hi Amy,

Great question, we addressed this last night in the coordinating meeting.

Our current approach is that we just collect names in a spreadsheet from
the site. No one is following up with those on the list, we discussed that
as well. We are going to send an email to those on the list, thanking them
for volunteering and letting them know that we will send an email about
future potential volunteer opportunities.

When someone signs up the communications team gets an email. The Google
spreadsheet share settings are these:


I mentioned we could add anyone to the access list for the spreadsheet.

I presented 2 potential WordPress plug-ins that could improve our volunteer
handling and offer a great feature-set to improve the site/ui/experience.

The biggest thing seems to be we don’t have any pending requests for
volunteers at events related to community gardens. So we discussed that as
well. The 2 potential plug-ins are very event-centric in that you have to
define events first.

That is sort of the current status of the volunteer handling. Let me know
