Important Announcement: Heat Advisory Warning

Happy Tuesday to all of you here in the 5th District! I wanted to send everyone a quick message about the extreme heat in Chicago yesterday and today. We are expected to experience the hottest weather this summer continuing into today. The temperature should begin to cool off tomorrow. This heat wave is no joke and I want to encourage all of you to take steps to stay cool. Below this message is information about cooling centers available around Chicago if you need a refuge from the heat. If you can not reach a cooling center Chicago Public Library locations will also offer relief.

 

If you would like to receive continual updates on the heat advisory please register for Chicago's emergency alert notifications at NotifyChicago.org or look at the Chicago OEMC social media pages. Make sure to stay hydrated, stay inside, and wear loose light clothing. Please be careful about leaving pets or children in a parked car even for a couple of minutes. I hope all of you are able to find ways to beat the heat and please reach out if you need any support.
