Hi Rachel,
It's so lovely to have you join us. Your mother was our membership
committee chair although we always struggled to define what membership
meant, and Julie did so much more that it became the Advocacy and Outreach
Committee. We're glad you joined us.
We will be working at creating a meaningful and lasting Tribute to Julie at
our Sept 17 meeting. It will be in person at the Hatchery, and you are
welcome to join this or any meeting. Our meetings are scheduled for the
third Tuesday of each month 6 - 7:30 pm, so just email us if you can make
it and we'll make sure you get the information..
Now that you're one of us, perhaps you'd consider joining one of our
working groups. CCGA is an all volunteer organization helping community
gardeners all over the city of Chicago. You can find the five working
groups listed on our website under "Who We Are".
Please check out our website for the other events or gatherings as well.
We count on everyone's participation; it's critically important to us, even
necessary as we help gardeners find connection, find seeds, find soil and
other resources. We announced the launch of the CCGA Community Gardening
Forum well over a year ago, so, if you haven't already joined or have
questions about how to start seeds, where to find a plot in a garden or a
brilliant idea to share, that is what the forum is all about
http://chicagocommunitygardens.org/2020/04/21/new-community-gardening-forum/
It's interesting to see what perplexes gardeners. What's nibbling on my
plants? Does anyone want liriope? It's open to all gardeners in and around
Chicago and was created by CCGA as a safe space to share questions,
knowledge, ideas and have discussions. You can see our guidelines and sign
up.
As a CCGA subscriber you will be receiving our Newsletters. We know that
you'll be welcome by the entire CCGA community of gardeners and not just
the Communications Team. Meanwhile let us know if you need anything else
from CCGA. Although we haven't put out a Newsletter recently, we hope to
have one before the end of the year.
Best
Communications Team
