CCGA Spring Annual Flower Distribution: Big Turnout!
Saturday April 9, 2016 started with snow and ice on the ground and temperatures in the twenties. But that did not stop community gardeners from coming to the Center for Green Technology to receive spring annuals grown by the CCGA Resources Committee! More than ninety community gardeners received a portion of the 2000 alyssum, cerinthe, dianthus, delphinium, digitalis, bellis perennis, osteospermum, nemesia, violas, pansies and more. The Resources Committee also distributed starts of rosemary, sweet peas, scotch kale, and fancy leaf geraniums, and provided five crates of fingerling seed potatoes for those in attendance. Last, and not least, the Resource Committee distributed over seventy raffle items including gently used tools, container, hose, decorative garden objects, and more. Thank you, community gardeners, for participating in this event!
We hope to see you on Saturday May 14 at the same location, where the Resource Committee will be distributing all of its vegetable seedlings and will also be selling nice wrought ironwork at very reasonable prices. More info on registering for this upcoming event soon!
