CCGA Resources First Distribution of 2019
It’s April already yet it’s still the first for CCGA Resources Distribution of 2019.
On Saturday April 13, over 60 Chicago community gardens participated in the Resources
Committee’s first distribution of 2019. CCGA Resources put together a fine display of
tools for the first thirty gardeners who registered Saturday morning. There were new
augers, bow saws, hand pruners, folding pruning saws, large loppers, and many more hand
tools. All gardeners received seeds and outside in the yard, a selection of spring ornamental
plants (osteospermum, large pots of cerinthe, and small pots of anemones and alyssum)
grown by Resources. Also outside was a table with bins of four varieties of potato starts
which were readily taken by gardeners to get them in the ground before the expected snowfall
Sunday. It was a great start to another year of Resources distributions. A big thank you to
Lowes for selling the tools to Resources at cost. Also, thanks to Robin Cline of Neighbor-Space
for her excellent presentation.
