6th annual MLK Food Justice and Sustainability Weekend

KAM Isaiah Israel’s Social Justice Committee presents the 6th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Food Justice and Sustainability Weekend. The focus this year is ‘Climate Change and Civil Rights.’ The weekend long education and advocacy event will include workshops on social justice, food and environmental justice, conservation and restoration. The goal of the weekend is to provide participants with powerful tools for change and a heightened motivation to work toward a greener, more equitable and sustainable world.

Schedule

  • Friday, January 16 at 7:30 p.m. Shabbat service followed by keynote address by Robert Nevel, KAMII president and founder of its award winning, nationally recognized Food Justice and Sustainability Program.
  • Saturday, January 17 at 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Community design workshop, reception to follow.
  • Sunday, January 18 at 10 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. Workshops at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Complimentary lunch is served at noon.
