Summer Planting tips for Growing Better Quality Food

We invite all community gardeners to jump start your summer gardens with tips and plants from this free workshop! Three members of Connecting Chicago Community Gardeners (CCCG), Michael Webb, Dr. Shemuel Israel, and Angela Taylor, will share their favorite quick tips about soil and its care, planting transplants, companion planting, as well as fertilizing and watering your summer vegetables. After the mini workshop, all gardeners will select free summer seedlings grown organically by CCCG members including sweet potato, heirloom tomatoes, basil, collards, and kale. We will also have a variety of free vegetable seeds to distribute.

Please RSVP to Ellen Newcomer at ecnewcomer334@gmail.com

Special Thanks to Neighborspace for the workshop space and seeds and to the Austin Green Team and Nick Michaud for growing the seedlings!
