Winter Classes Offered at Garfield Park Conservatory
Winter is a great time to relax, repair and get ready for the next growing season. Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance is offering an array of classes this winter to help get you prepared for the next growing season. All of the classes have a GPCA Member/Volunteer rate for active members/volunteers. You can find more about our membership program here. Click the links below to get more information and to register.
Urban Agroecology: Ecosystem-Based Food Production for Cities 6 Class Series, taught by Nance Klehm. You can register for the entire series now at discount or starting January 1, they can be registered for separately.
- February 15 + February 22 5-9pm: A two-evening intensive to provide theoretical background for ecosystem-based food production.
- March 12 9am-1pm: Pruning Fundamentals; a hands-on class
- March 18 9am-1pm: Methods of propagation; a hands-on class
- March 19 9am-1pm: Skills in Landscape Reading; a hands-on class
- March 25 9am-1pm: Beneficial Fungi in the Garden; a hands-on class
Beginning Beekeeping Class, taught by Marcin Matelski, GPCA Head Beekeeper

Plant Propagation: Indoor Tropical Plants, taught by Sebastian Ritte, Chicago Park District Floriculturist

There are also has lots of free programs for adults like yoga, mini tours, drop-in composting demonstrations, and our 2nd Wednesday lecture series.
